About 10,000 people turned up when Conrad Jupiters opened at Broadbeach on 22 November 1985. It was Queensland’s first casino, run by Hilton’s Conrad Hotels with Jupiters Limited, and it set the Gold Coast’s glitz for the decade that followed.
Many names, one casino
Jupiters merged with Tabcorp in 2003, dropped the Conrad name in 2010 to become Jupiters Hotel & Casino, joined Echo Entertainment in 2011 and became The Star Gold Coast in 2017. With more than 200 chips, it is one of the richest Queensland houses in the guide.
